Workout Summary: Run 2 miles (20')/Swim 6600 meter (2:03)
Well, achilles sore this morning. Went out with group first mile on dirt and I could already realize running on it today would be taking a huge gamble. Slowed to 10-12 min per mile pace on way back to car. Iced 15 minutes and drove to the pool
So, I had to call an audible on the final long run. Would have been a nice cap on the week but I still got 50 miles of running so feel satisfied. I decided to still workout for at least 2 hours so into the water I went to do a big swim to cap off the week.
Swim 6600 meter in outdoor 50 meter.
600 pull wu in 10:30
4000 continuous, descending splits every 1000.
17:27 (1:45/100)
17:24 (1:45/1000
17:19 (1:44/100)
16:56 (1:42.5/100)
Total for 4000 = 1:09.06
Pretty happy with this, since the conversion to IM distance (3800) is around 1:05.30, which is 5 minutes faster than my 1/2 IM pace at Florida couple of weeks back.
1 min rest after
1000 kick: first 100 and final 100 without fins, middle 800 with fins.
1000 pull cd: 18:30
*Achilles sore first few hundred meters but then pain free. In fact, the swim really helped.
Felt really strong and steady off this swim.
So, I didnt get in my 68 running this week, but 17,300 meters of swimming I think makes up a bit for the lower running time.
Diet:
Breakfast: Cup hot cider vinegar. 2 eggs with salsa, black beans on 2 wheat tortilla's and cheddar cheese. Mixed fruit. Glass skim milk. 2 shots expresso in hot water with spash of cream.
Lunch: Big mug of hot chai with soy after swim.
