Day 4 Carlsbad: Rest day

Workout Summary: Swim 4000 m (1:20)/25' Pilates core/Run 8 (1:06)

Got a late start today. I havent mentioned that our condo is 1 block from RR tracks and a gate. So, 5:30-6 am each morning, we are awoken by the train whistle. Then every 1/2 an hour. The train also travels until just after 11 pm each night also, so we are awoken every night too. I wont rent in this area again, thats for sure. So this morning we fell back to sleep a couple of times

a.m.: Swim 4ooo meter, 1:20 Outdoor pool....sooo nice.
1000 wu 17:45 + 100 kick
10 X 200/30
sets of 3: first w/ fins, second pull, third free: 10th did an additional free
all descending, getting faster each set. 10th 200 in 3:10
1 min rest
6 X 100/25 all in 1:32-38, first 3 free, second 3 pull
300 cd pull easy
Bicept tight but no worse throughout swim. Never really pushed. Focused on "new" technique we learned last week, I must say, the new recovery portion of my stroke really feels great on my chest and rotator cuff. Really feels comfortable.

p.m run: 25 minutes of Pilates abs/core: Run 66 minutes. Ran 7 miles of the Carlsbad marathon course, 7:45-8:15 pace.

Diet:
Breakfast: 7 eggwhites with spinach mixed in. 2 slices wheat toast with honey, 16 oz skim milk
Lunch; Turkey and swiss sandwich at a deli on the coast, 3 oz bag potato chips, diet pepsi.
Dinner: Broiled grouper, red potatoes, broccoli/cauliflower mix. diet shasta, 1 beer.
