Total Hours in 9 days, with final 2 days just swimming = 33:47

Bike: 332 (5 day period) Time = 18:35

This training block felt great. Cant help the achilles, it was pain free during the entire brick, including the run. Running sub 7:30 pace in that heat and elevation off 80 miles, 67 of which was at 22.4 mph is a good sign for me. I am without a doubt in the best shape since doing IM racing.
And with 3 hundred milers? Yeah...let all the over-trainers call me crazy. Matt Lieto hit home with it when he told me he never bikes more than 250 in a week, and this is a real pro..4:03 at Wild Flower? Thats crazy fast. Listening to some of his workouts though..doesnt sound like many junk miles. Even his ride with us was a recovery ride for him. He still pedaled away from us up the 2000 ft ascent to McKenzie pass like it was nothing.
So, I cant be upset with the achilles. I know I havent over trained. Matt figures with the headwind I had, I was probably pedaling toe up a bit and letting my heal drop on the down stroke. This torqued my achilles most likely, although I had no pain to let me know I had strained anything. If I did, I would have slowed down and backed off the power. Hopefully, it wont cost me more than a few days.
I will still work on my swim. I felt the breakthrough I have been waiting for yesterday and today. Working on my head position all week, as well as 2 other things. Now when I breath each time, all I see is the lane marker under the water. Bob sais that I have found the "magic pocket" of bouyancy and streamlining my head, while still catching the tiny pocket of air by my shoulder when I breath. I can really feel it. It feels much more streamline. We'll see if it lasts.
